Artist Bio
Both of my parents are professional artists and after having tried to look for my life calling elsewhere, I found that art was in my blood and, eventually, decided to stick with it. I started drawing at the tender age of 18 months, studied art in New York and exhibited at a New York gallery at age 18.
Having produced and sold quite a few artworks, I took a 20 year break to travel around the world while promising my parents that I will get back into art again at age 40. And, when I did turn 40, I went back into art full force. By then, I was fairly well-versed in computers ( my second love), the Internet was a buzzword everywhere, and I decided to launch a new "art movement" which I called: "Art About The Web".
Some people think that the computer world is somewhat dull and unromantic. I decided to change all that by producing hundreds of paintings about computers and the Web, and creating visual poems on the same subject. I almost always utilized traditional methods, such as guache, acrylics and oil pastels and created most of my works either on canvas or paper. Since then I have been exhibiting in London, Greece, New York, Florida, San Francisco and the Virgin Islands.
I try to combine folklore with electronic media and subject matters dealing with modern cyber technology. Therefore, my art can be considered"Electronic Folk Art" in a way. I plan to follow the latest developments in the computer industry as long as I paint and continue being the visual poet of the Internet.
My motto is ":The Internet is the ultimate Superpower" since it has helped us transcend national, religious and cultural boundaries and enabled us to create a totally new world community. In fact, it has become a supra-country in which we all live. I, therefore, consider it an honor to be its artistic patriot.
