WOW-if you are interested in planes and or history, especially WW II aircraft, then this is a must see. Even if you are not I think you would find it interesting. These are the machines that provided air superiorty in Europe and are probably responsible for our victory in the Pacific theatre. Beautifully restored aircraft (see their website for a list) of which most are still flyable. The docents are veterans of WW II, Korea and Vietnam. They have actually flown these planes and are informative and friendly. You can actually tour the inside of a restored B-17 where you can appreciate the courage that it must have took to fly a combat mission in one of these things. Beautiful restorations of the Grumman F series (the "Cats), the TBF/TBM Avenger flown by Pres. GeorgeBush and a brief bio of his tour of duty, The CV F4U Corsair , P-47, the P-51D to name a few. Good historical info and library. It brings home the importance of our Armed Services and the contribution and sacrifice they made for us and our allies in what was a dark time in history. When you look at the pictures of the airmen who flew in these planes you quickly realize that many of them were barely old enough to get a drivers license. Highly recommended for all age groups.
Pros: all good
Cons: none

My oldest son is an aircraft enthusiast. He loved seeing all of the vintage aircraft when we went to visit his grandmother. We were lucky as they also had an air show that week-end as well. The planes are kept in working condition.

Most of the aircraft, and there are many of them, are actually in operating condition, so you get to see first hand WWII vintaged aircraft ready to fly. There's even a walk thru tour of a B-17 from flight deck to tail gun. The planes are in spectacular condition and you will not be disappointed. I'm taking my Dad back there today.
